Hair can be fried during chemical processes such as perming, relaxing or bleaching, if the hair is exposed to heat for too long. This is because during these processes the hair is very fragile as the outer protective layer of cuticles has been raised slightly to allow the chemicals access to inner cortex so that the reactions can occur to change the hair. Fried hair has been so extensively damaged that it can not return to its original state. However, there are a few options to help remedy it.
Firstly you could cut it off or trim the parts that are fried. Since hair can not repair itself as it is technically dead you have to wait for it to grow out or cut it off. While your hair is growing back, or if you did not want to get it all copped off, you could use clip on hair extensions to hide the damage until it grows out and you cut it off.
While your hair is recovering try not to shampoo too often as chemicals in both the water and any shampoo will only cause further damage. However, deep conditioning your hair will help as it will provide moisture for your hair and make hair easier to detangle which would otherwise further worn hair. Also try to allow your hair to air dry and do not use hair dryers. Try to avoid products containing alcohol or silicon as these tend to build up in your hair making it frizzy and weakened it further.
Wear sun protection in your hair to protect your hair follicles, which are pits in your scalp out of which hair grow, and your hair color so that it does not fade.
Drinking plenty of water will help to keep your scalp hydrated and prevent the hair becoming dry.
If you think that your fried hair was caused by a negligent hair dresser leaving your hair to process for too long under the heat, then you may be able to make a claim for compensation towards any remediation the situation and towards any embarrassment or humiliation you may have suffered due to your damaged hair.
