First of all, it doesn’t matter if the ingredients are rather considered ‘healthy’ (for example black beans, eggs, cacao powder etcetera) because they still deliver calories and if you eat more calories than you burn at the end of the day, this will promote weight gain on the longterm BUT it’s not that simple! We need food and calories to function properly though, so don’t let that weight gain talk scare you off! 8 times out of 10 it does matter what food choices you make because a calorie is not just a calorie (think of essential nutrients we need like vitamins, minerals, fiber). ____
As you can see the black bean brownies are lower in calories than the regular store-bought ones. And you might think, well it’s ‘just’ 105 kcal more why would I choose the left ones? True, but that depends on the rest of your intake during that day + your needs/goals + willpower. Another thing is to look beyond calories when making food choices. The main ingredients of the right ones are refined flour, added free sugars, butter. The high amount of added sugar will spike your blood sugar, not keeping you full and wanting to eat another snack in a very short time. Anding up with eating a lot more than the 225 kcal alone of the brownie probably. While the left ones are higher in fiber, complexe carbs and micro’s. So it’s not only smart to look on the short run, but the long run is very important as well when making good choices because they can influence your intake during the rest of that day.

And I didn’t even talk about the added preservatives and other ingredients we usually don’t even understand when reading the label… And they are both absolutely delicious, I would even rather pick the left ones đŸ™ŒđŸŒ not kidding!!
